How to Get Physical Items (Books, DVDs and More): 

Follow these steps to submit a request for a physical item:

  1. Navigate to the UF Library Catalog. Click Sign In on the top right corner of the screen. Log in using your GatorLink credentials.
  2. Search for the item you are looking for by title, ISBN, or other citation information.
  3. Find the item you are looking for in the search. Once you find the correct item, click Get it for me from other libraries. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, submit a request using the blank ILL request form.
  4. From the catalog listing, locate the blue box under Get it from other locations. From the Get a physical copy section, click Get It.
  5. Select the correct Pickup Location and fill out the rest of the form as applicable. Once the form is complete, click Send.
  6. A green box will appear confirming that your request was successfully placed. You will also receive an email confirmation.

How To Get an Article PDF: 

Follow these steps to submit a request for an article PDF 

  1. Navigate to the UF Library Catalog. Click Sign In on the top right corner of the screen. Log in using your GatorLink credentials.
  2. Search for the article title.
  3. Find the article you are looking for in the search. Once you find the correct article, click Get it for me from other libraries. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, submit a request using the blank ILL request form.
  4. From the catalog listing, locate the blue box under Get it from other locations. From the Get a digital copy section, click Get It.
  5. Fill out the rest of the form as applicable. Once the form is complete, click Send.
  6. A green box will appear confirming that your request was successfully placed. You will also receive an email confirmation.

How To Get a Book Chapter PDF: 

Follow these steps to submit a request for a Book Chapter PDF. 

  1. Navigate to the UF Library Catalog. Click Sign In on the top right corner of the screen. Log in using your GatorLink credentials.
  2. Search for the book chapter or book title.
  3. Find the book chapter or book you are looking for in the search. Once you find the correct book chapter or book, click Get it for me from other libraries. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, submit a request using the blank ILL request form.
  4. From the catalog listing, locate the blue box under Get it from other locations. From the Get a digital copy section, click Get It.
  5. Fill out the rest of the form as applicable. Once the form is complete, click Send.
  6. A green box will appear confirming that your request was successfully placed. You will also receive an email confirmation.

How To Use the Blank ILL Request Form: 

Follow these steps to submit a request using the blank ILL request form, which can be found below the search bar or linked at the top of the catalog: 

  1. Navigate to the UF Library Catalog. Click Sign In on the top right corner of the screen. Log in using your GatorLink credentials.
  2. Search for the resource title.
  3. If you find the correct resource, click Get it for me from other libraries. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, click Didn’t find what you need? Click here to submit a blank ILL form, which is found directly below the search bar.
  4. Select whether you need a book or article request. If you need a book chapter, select book and then check the box for I only need a specific chapter or pages.
    • The Book form is for all physical requests, such as music scores, theses, DVDs, microfilm and more.
  5. Select the correct Pickup Location and fill out the rest of the form as applicable. Once the form is complete, click Send.
    • All requests require a pickup location for submission of the form, even Article and Book Chapter requests that are uploaded as a PDF.
  6. A green box will appear confirming that your request was successfully placed. You will also receive an email confirmation.
